Treasure Coast Medical Associates ensures that our municipal partners enjoy the best possible pharmaceutical pricing as we are constantly re-evaluating our vendors to control your costs.

Extrapolated from other municipal partners in the area, TCMA has managed savings to local municipalities in the range of 6.40:1 to 9.80:1 (See attached ROI reports showing further savings). Pharmacy savings represents the highest savings in terms of ROI and dollars saved than any other activity performed at an employee health clinic.

1. On-site services

TCMA will maintain an onsite, secure dispensing pharmacy with a formulary that will be adjusted to meet the needs of the employee population of your organization. We will perform on-site counseling regarding pharmaceutical selection and usage as needed.

2. Formulary selection and typical listing

Not withstanding the current formulary selection, TCMA health care providers evaluate and consider the best treatment for any patient presentation and always take into consideration the latest research & evidence to support their treatment along with cost savings.

3. Pharmacy Utilization Control Program

Pharmacy utilization control program is reported monthly in our standard reporting package. It will show the names of the medications, number of patients/prescriptions, prescribed, for the top 25.

4. E-prescriptions
We routinely e-prescribe for those medications outside of the clinic formulary.

5. Ninety (90) day refills

Generally, we do 90 day refills, unless other lengths of time are clinically indicated (antibiotics, etc.). Medications dispensed at the employee medical clinic will not be marked up in cost, but will be passed through to you at their wholesale price. There will be no additional cost for filling prescriptions and no other claims will be filed by TCMA. We will work with a number of medication vendors to obtain the lowest prices on the formulary’s medications.

6. Mail order pharmacy programs
We have a relationship with express scripts, however, we are able to interact and send prescriptions to any mail order pharmacy instrument that is inside the City’s health plan.
